Lemforder ball joint

Got a couple of these from Euro (617745225 Lemforder Ball Joint) and looks easy enough to fit but can't figure out where the plastic spacer is meant to go.

Also noticed one has O2F stamped on it and the other has O12A but look the same, just a different batch?

The spacer goes on the ball joint itself between the rubber boot and hub.
