Light Scratches, Frosted

  Ibiza FR
My headlights both had slight corrosion around the top, so i got some wet and dry paper (600g down to 1500g) to get rid of it, which it has. But now the lights are still very lightly scrthed over the surface, so they look slightly frosted. what product or material should i use next to bring them back to a smooth and nice shine finish?

cheers

lol !!! 600 !!!!!!

2000 i would have used, but i wouldnt even use wet and dry on headlamps. some fast cut pro usually sorts them, unless they are fucked

thought so, although i dont know anyone with one whos nearby! i guess i can live with how they are for a while. you recon trying scratch x or srp would help, dont mind putting in a bit of elbow grease :)
cheers

srp wont do s**t, not cutting compound in them, dont know much about scratch x. im like 15 mins away from you, but machine polisher is at work, lol

ahh shame really! i dont know much about detailing, just thought id give wet and dry a go on them cause im sure ive heard of someone using it before. ill ask around a few people see if anyone has got a machine polisher. cheers for the help

you used way to corse grit.

and should always use lighter cutting first, and go corser and corser until its sufficient enough to get rid.

thats where i went wrong then. i thought that you cut out the marks, then cut out the scratches they left getting lighter and lighter. ill know for next time, and ill get these sorted soon, might even get myself a polisher

You do, but you went to harsh in the first place, lol. Generally you work yourself backwards untill you get the right level of cut, then work forward and then you know how far back you need to go.

went back out last night and went at it with a bit of t-cut then a load of polish, dosent look to bad now actually. just going to save up and get a machine polisher as whole car could do with a quick going over.

As stated above, you will need to get a machine polisher on the head lights. Depending on where you are based (I know it's leamington, but I have no idea how far these guys are from you) you could get JMS Tuning to sort it for you.

Have a look at their homepage and go to the services section. It shows head light correction for £25.
