Lighting the Cruise control buttons

My dads volvo has illuminated CC buttons and i was thinking that i would quite like that on my car, has anyone done it?

I don't think it would be too hard to fit as i would run power from a backlight that turns on with the headlights.

not trying to be funny but how is this going to work? the buttons are solid plastic so no light will pass through them atall?

only way i could think would be to cut out the letters then cover then wit see through plastic or maby vynle?
