Lights and switches

Over the weekend I bought a pair of those windscreen washer nossles with the Blue LEDs in. Instructions say to wire them in with your "corner" lights. But I want to be able to switch them on/off independantly of my main vehicle lights. There is a rotary switch on the light stalk for front fog lights (but my RT doesnt have foggies). Is there any way I can connect my "washer lights" to that switch. Im also thinking of adding some under car neons later and to have them work of that same switch?

there is no reason why u cant use the switch hopefully the wires are in there as well it would just b a case of finding them and wiring the switch inline with the supply off ur sidelights. beware though i had these on my astra and got stopped twice and fined 30 quid in the first week of having them for impersonating a police car, seriously! i had purple neons as well and had no trouble with them but id have bought the white washer jets

Ive heard of guys here in South Africa being pulled over too (also for "impersonating a police vehicle"), but they seem to be getting popular over here. Thats one of the reasons why I want to be able to have them on and off at will - the cops. The other reason ties in with what ClioJohn has to say. I agree, they are a bit of a gimmick, but having em means its a "mod" that Ive got that the next oke hasnt. So generally I wouldnt go cruising around with them on, but if I do end up in a "customizing p!$$!ng contest" with the next guy, I can always click them on. Its just something a little different. Besides, they sell for about a 100 bucks (rand) (thats a little under 6 pounds).

i know theyre tacky but i was goin through the fast an the furious neon light faze ok, dont worry i wont b doin none of that to my valver

I know what you mean. Ive got it on DVD and have probably watched it 20 times. The shop where I bought the washers from even advertises them as "Fast and the Furious" accessories. Nonetheless, Im installing mine. Hey man, who cares what others think. Everybody has their own taste and if Im happy to drive around with little blue lights on my bonnet, so be it. Some people might fit a certain mag wheel and think it rulz while I might think it looks cr@ppy. Different strokes for different folks!!! Thanx for your input.

Why not have them on a totally separate circuit to the lighting? Then use that same circuit for your neons when you get them?
