Limp mode and hessitation on 182

Hi All

Ever since i have purchased 182 it has gone in to limp mode constantly. I have had it plugged in at a Renault sport specialist and it comes up with a throttle pedometer code of the top of my head so i have changed the throttle pedal and the throttle body and had the faults cleared and the issue is still there. In 1st to 3rd the car is very hessitant and jerky at low speeds almost like it needs a engine mount which is doesnt, and i can press the pedal around 3/4 of the way down and it will barley move then it will suddenly lunge forward. The engine management light is also constantly on and it will throw itself into limp mode every few mintues on some drives especially in traffic. You can usually tell when its going to go into limp mode because it the revs start to go up and down when its stood still . Driving on the motorway is usually fine. Has anybody got any other suggestions to what it could be ? If i cant solve the issue im just going to sell it cheap as it is

Corrosion on big white plug in fuse area on engine bay cured mine.Who was the specialist ?

Large white plug in fuse box next to battery,the pins get corrosion and ecu thinks throttle problem

Hmm will take a look tomorrow day. Is it just a case of wiping the plug off and clearing the codes or do i need to get a new one

Clean it ,other than that hit limp mode in search button loads of info.Mine was putting squiggly lines and engine light on randomly .This stopped it brand new throttle from renault did sod all

i have searched the net and nobody seems to post what they did to fix the issue. I have tried all the main suggestions that people have as it seems to be a common problem and non of them have worked. People have even suggested putting a new ecu on or sending a scope down the loom to have it checked which i dont fancy doing as the car is only a temporary run about. Ill take a look at that plug tomorrow and post how i get on

Put into search Clio limp mode white plug ,not google search tab on here mate

Give the connectors a clean before. Not sure how corroded they usually get but i give it a spray with wd40 and used a small screwdriver and tissue to wipe the connectors down. Will see if it goes into limp mode on my way to work tonite

Hopefully that will sort it.Limp mode is bloody awful.Bet previous owner sold it for that reason

The issue is still there going into limp mode and the hesitation is still there. I give up now probably just going to sell the car cheap with the fault cant be bothered throwing any more money at it now.

after i paid a reputable specialist £40 to plug it in and tell me the same as what my mates with diagnostic readers also told me i dont fancy spending more on a car that was meant to be a temporary run-around. I have spend close to £1000 on it in parts since Oct already. Its pointing to a fuelling or wiring fault somewhere as the usual fixes arent working. Its less hassle to walk atm. Going to check the injectors and clean that plug properly with an air line next week and if its still the same im just going to leave it. Thanks for the input though its appreciated

Can understand your frustration really can.But some specialists are better than others @imprezaworks can vouch for Carls work hes helped me out on messages with things and didn't have too.For the sake of another opinion could get your 182 bk too normal

sorry for late reply more headaches with the car and im based in manchesterand multimeter's are where my knowledge and patience ends

Did whoever plugged it in look at fuel trims as well? Probably got a few faults by the sounds of it.

No he didnt look at fuel trims. It has a throttle pedometer code which is useless, 02 sensor and air con code due to needing a regass. I have a feeling it may be a fueling issue due to the way it takes a while to pickup

Im just concerned about plugging it in and getting told to replace the pedal or throttle body again. 3 different garages have had it plugged in and have all said the same thing which haunt sorted it. Just a waste of my cash, im just abit hesitant about doing it for a 4th time

i've yet to come across one that has ever actually needs a pedal or body replacing.
hmm out of curiosity how much would you charge to diagnose and possibly fix. have you got a ruff figure ? really cba spending a fortune again, car was only meant to be a cheap run around for a few month ?

After looking its the knock sensor thats snapped off was barley being held on by anythibg. Not sure if it would cause the limp mode problems

I was thinking you have more than one problem,as being in limp mode because of wiring corrosion in the throttle track circuit will not cause a misfire or flat spot.A poor connection to knock sensor probably will though.
The corrosion in the white plug is not pin to pin,but occurs from pin to copper wiring joint.
This has been dragging on for too long now.I would recommend you get down the 75 miles to Mick at Diamond Motors in Long Eaton and get it sorted whilst you go for something to eat in the local cafe.
He will only charge for his time,not for the use of his diagnostic kit,and IMO his charges are very reasonable.

Did u ever find a fix? I've the same problem replaced plugs leads coil lambda air temp sensor maf sensor cleaned the white plug. Heads wrecked
