Limp mode kicked in when driving hard, TPS? PPS?

  182 FF, A6 Avant
After some help, was out today and driving the car quite hard. The car went into limp mode and the "heart beat" light came on. Stopping and restarting the car cured it and it didn't come back on. I didn't press on as hard as before though.

I've ordered a fault code reader to see what's logged, but searching on here seems to indicate a throttle or pedal position sensor (or the wiring around them.)
Does this fit with usual 182 problems? The car is an 04 with 72k on.

I'm going to clean up the throttle body tomorrow and then just wait for the code reader to arrive.

Anything else I can try?
Are the TPS/PPS easy enough to change?

Had same issue and was to do with wiring around the throttle.

Also some wiring under the bonnet was shorting from what I remember.

Any idea what wiring in the engine? Will have a look at the pedal.

Was hoping to do silverstone in a few weeks so need this sorted ASAP.

Bump... any pointers on what wiring to check and what I should be looking for?

Really need some help on this if anyone has any ideas.

Tried cleaning up the connector to the throttle body. The wiring there seems OK too, no visibly fraying. I also disconnected/reconnected the pedal box connector, this seems to have made it a bit better (after gaffer taping it down) but it's still happening.

To update this, tonight I've changed the TB and after an hours hard driving I cannot cause the fault. The pedal and pedal sensor is being replaced on Tuesday too so fingers crossed.

Well it hasn't happened again yet! So looks like you're right so far.

Pedal is on back order with Renault so it will take a few weeks to turn up now!

Thanks again Fred.

I had the worst case of limp mode ever and in the end beleive it or not it was my engine mount that had worn that bad my engine must have been moving too much and causing the limp mode, it was at the point to where if i needed to drive my car i dread it! changed the engine mount and the car drives better than the day i bought it 4yrs ago, even the stop and handbrake light doesnt come on anymore! (when driving)

I had this on my 172, replaced the whole pedal and the pediometer (I think that's what it's called ha). Never had the problem again.
