little spider

Car  RARE Unmolested Corsa sxi
ive got a little spider living in my wing mirror and its driving me nuts.
everytime i get the cobwebs off, they are back the next day.

what i want to know is;

can i take the mirror out, without taking the whole thing off the car??

(tried drowning it with a hose, no luck)

its a mk2ph2 by the way.

surely if you just spray a load of insect killer down the gap between the glass and the case its going to do the job.

you dont even know if he lives in the wing mirror. He might live under your door mat and just build a web there every night just to piss you off. Seeing your face every morning might be the only thing that brings a smile to the poor guys face!

Your car is an animal sanctuary! Its a good thing! Think of the spider as a mascot, give him a name, he aint doing you any harm, and you can still see from the mirror.

Soon you'll come to miss him when he aint there!

Live and let live fella... :)

hes taunting me, i'm gonna get him...

Hes bound to have friends to do his bidding once he is gone... kill 1 and 2 will come back!
but atleast then you will have matching wing mirrors

He's simply coming out to say hello! He'll soon realise the back of a wing mirror aint the best place to get flies, and find somewhere else.

Or try this...

Catch an ant, alive, throw it onto his web, and wait. when he comes out and starts eating the ant, scoop him and web up swiftly with a newspaper folded in half or similar, and let him crawl safely into bushes/stamp on him, depending on your viewpoint...

very good idea rex. other than that you could dress all in black, camo face paint, night vision goggles etc. set your alarm for 4am and catch him in the act of building!

the only worry about that is that in you fit or rage you may well take the wing mirror clean off with a sledge hammer... it can happen

PMSL at the night vision goggles!

LOL! i had one in my peugeot wing mirror, i thought she was cute, my little friend, although she was quite big. she use to do her web around the whole wing mirror and catch and eat flies. I use to watch her while I was driving. I didnt mind her being there.

She will go soon, when her eggs hatch, the babies will drink her blood and she will shrivel up.

Lol, I used to have this too... so annoying!

Amazingly, a hose stuck right into the crack of the mirror doesn't work, it just makes them wet, and it seems that wet spiders buil webs faster.

i had one then on a sunny day 'it' crossed enemy lines and entered the inside of my car to which i had to pull over n get out it was quite big and i am terrified of the the critters altho wud never harm one they just need to learn there place on the wing-mirror! x

I have two of the little buggers, one in each mirror. I just wipe the webs away each day, doesn't bother me really even though I 'hate' spiders.

Funny thread! LOL at the one saying they quite liked the spider and watched it as they drove along - how slow do they drive?! or was that some kind of tenacious super-spider that just would'nt let go?

Ambushing him as he builds the web is definitely the way forward

I think I have one since I get the web sometimes too.

Never really thought about it lol. Funny thread man :D

Maybe Renault install them seeing as we all have them?

Lol

I like mine, i'd miss them if they were gone. They do quite well, there's always lots of fly remains in the webs.

heh, i also have one in my drivers side mirror, not seen him yet but im sure hes there :)
