Liverpool Victoria & mods

Just started a policy with LV on my 172. I declared a couple of mods when they gave me the quote (IK and chip). However, neither of these are mentioned in the paperwork. Phoned them yesterday and it sounded like they had lost the info about the mods. In any case, didnt affect the premium so the guy said hed reissue the corrected paperwork. Came today - still no mention of the mods.

Do LV normally put something in the certificate or schedule about any mods, or is it normal for this to be left out? Just feeling ultra-cautious as I have always understood you need something in writing to prove you declared the mods at the time.

Im with Liverpool Vic too - i mentioned my mods and there response:

We dont take into account ANY modifications. As long as you have receipts and photographic evidence of them fitted to your car that will be fine

Hope that helps mate

hmmm... wonder how you photograph a Group N ECU .

I guess that relates to whether the value of the mods is taken into account in a claim. Im more worried about the insurers trying to wriggle out of honouring a claim after discovering undisclosed mods.

I wouldnt worry about them refusing work my mate slid his modified corsa bending the alloy and a few other bits and they replaced everything with the same type or similar ie adjustable dampers, 4 new alloys the same size as the one one (couldnt get hold of his same type apparently) and they fixed the boykit whcih was bent as well.

Liverpool Victoria are good with mods they dont care so long as they know about then and you dont change the cc of the car (this costs a small premium).

I declared al my mods even thou they said I didnt have to and I got a renewed certificate, but it did not include a list of mods.

As said, they dont charge for mods, only engine transplants according to them!

Thanks for the info. Getting Tarox brakes and Eibach Pro kit fitted today, so will let them know. Main reason for going with LV is they dont keep ramping up the premium every time you fit something new - Direct Line charge minimum 10% of annual premium for every mod .
