Long list of faults - Garage suggests a replacement ECU

Hello.

I have been reading, and reading about how to get rid of the air bag and service light so I tried the resistor technique but had no luck.

We are on very good terms with a local indy garage, worked next door to my dad for 20 years, and does all our other cars etc. so we know he is reliable.
The car was in a crash before I got it, and had been restored by someone near my Dads work also.

Any way I just thought I would get a second opinion of this board, since its specialised in the Clio.

The list of errors are as follows:

183 Pretensioner buckle circuit, driver side open circuit
184 " " passenger side "

77 Front thorax side airbag circuit, driver open circuit
68 " " passenger "

177 Rear side inertia reel circuit, driver open circuit
178 " " passenger

65 Front seat position sensor circuit, Driver open circuit or short circuit to battery <<< can't work out if he has wrote battery or something else
2 ECU Supply voltage, Voltage too low
194 Replace ECU after impact locked following impact.

Has anyone ever had experience with this?

Do I need a new ECU, and then correct all these faults to clear the airbag and service light?

Appreciate any replies.

Thanks

A new air bag computer is required. Also it will need configuring at Renault on Clip.

Also, any pretensioners/air bags that have gone off need to be replaced £££££

Is the ECU and airbag computer the same thing.
They sell them on eBay for relatively cheap, but am I right in thinking only Renault can programme it, and they charge a fortune.

I was hoping to sell the car for about £750 when fixed, but I am starting to worry it will end up scrap.

Is the car ph1 or ph2??

The airbag ecu is under the centre console(where the gear selector is)

Its a mk2 Clio.

If I get a new ECU off eBay or something, can it be programmed? Also, is the ECU and airbag computer the same thing?

I might end up having to write off a perfectly good car.

One thing to note, the guy at the garage seems to think it needs a new ECU because its broke, presumably due to the voltage error. But if it just needs resetting this a much easier, and cheaper job.

Once the airbags/pretensions have been deployed the air bag computer is scrap and will require replacing. Don't get crap off eBay or second hand s**t, it won't work.

How much do you think I am looking at for repairing this? Is there a good chance I have probably had no airbag for 4 - 5 years?
