Im always wary when they dont state the mileage still looks minted, as said if the belts arent done this is a major haggling point, HPI a must

I'm getting 40 mpg at the minute why would petrol prices be a problem, just out of interest?? I've never owned a more economical car.

Oops, actually i lied i used to drive a Smart Roadster that did 60+ mpg. But that was more like owning a motorbike.

Ok, thanks for your help.

I'm waiting to hear back from the seller, to see if the belts have been done.
Then, I'll do a HPI, make an offer and possibly even purchase this weekend :D

It's either had a front end smash or bumper resray, check the RS grille has 2 stickers on it not just one.

Could the stickers not have just been removed. How did you conclude its had a front end smash? I fail to see any differences in body colors or anything...

The stickers at front area tell tale sign, but not conclusive. I would compare the headlights for even minor chips between the two. the clear cover is easily chipped and if one is mint against the other then defo raise an eyebrow. If both are spotless I would also be suspicious on a 40k car. Same as checking both front wheels, if one is dirtier inside than the other etc.

IIRC the washer jet plates are not usually painted either?

Text the registration number to 83600 - it's a TXT service for HPI'ing cars, i have used it loads of times, tells you everything a HPI check would, best still, it's only £3. well worth it in the long run.

That text service doesnt tell you what a HPI would tell you, or should i say not all of it.

It tells you the VIN
How many Owners
Color changes
Stolen report
SCrapped?!
Or wether its been an insurance write off.

It could do with finding out if its got any outstanding finance! thats the biggest one IMO!

I've now found a different one.

Viewing it this Saturday morning. Done the text HPI check, and all appears fine.
