Be better off actually looking to buy one rather than having people coming to you mate? Don't think Gum tree is the wisest place to start your search either try Piston Heads, Auto Trader and here and you should find something in your budget.

Wanted threads are a waste of time. Anyone wanting to sell their car for say 1500 is going to see your ad, and just say oh yer I got one, smug over 2k and it's yours. Your never going to get a bargain. Also a 1.2 Renault clio isn't exactly like hunting for a Ferrari 250 gto, there are thousands about, and hundreds for sale. Just have a look about local dealers, autotrader, pistonheads, eBay and small ads. You'll be spoilt for choice
