Losing Coolant - Thermostat?

Hi guys,

Recently had the thermostat changed (geniune) in January and since then have noticed I'm losing coolant. Only done 80 mines since.

At one stage it had dropped below minimum, so I topped it up to max with Type D and left the car unused for a week and a bit. Coolant header remained on max and no signs of leaks.

Just took the car out today for the first time for about 30 mins giving it a good run. Came back and noticed fresh (greeny/yellow) coolant droplets on top of the gearbox and some of the pipework above.

Take it that it's likely to be leaking around the thermostat? Bit difficult to see the area and had to get work.

Cheers,
Amos

Just had another looked. Definitely dripping from the thermostat, then saw this:

Bolt is half out, not sure if it hasn't been tightened correctly or come loose. Will take it back the the garage at some point soon as my car is only a few miles away for where it is.

Just checked the diagram, definitely is the bleed screw. :) Thankfully I noticed before it overheated then.

At least I know there wont be any air in the system haha.

A local one, I expect its the cause of the issues.

Thankfully noticed it before I ran out of coolant, that wouldn't have been fun on the motorway.
