lost all oil!

  182
Was driving today for about ten mins and when i stopped at some lights i could smell burning oil. Pulled away from the lights and i could here something pouring (like pouring a cup of water on the floor). Looked in the mirror and could see a trail of oil! Pulled over imediatly and turned the engine off. Only had a quick look and it looks like it coming from between the engine and gearbox. Gonna have a better look in a bit but i suspect Its had it.

Now opinions, if it is knackered would you change the engine, or sell it as spares or repairs?
Dont want to break it as cant really be bothered with the hassle. How much would it be worth? its a 54 b/g 182 in good condition Bar a fkd engine lol.

Must say im a bit gutted to say the least!:(

Doesn't sound good....

The area you are describing could be the crank seal, between the gearbox and engine.. if it was engine oil?

Are you sure it was engine oil?

Had a look and its gearbox oil i think! still pretty much full on the dipstick one bit of luck i guess. Its been popping out of gear for the last couple of days aswell. bmit riding bikes myself i can understand the dangers of oil on the road but i cant stand on a duel carriageway with a mop.

Strip the box out and investigate, you will need a new clutch and a clean up of the flywheel and in the bellhousing.
