Low power steering fluid causing knock?

I don't pretend to know a lot about power steering so sorry for the probably stupid question.... my new 182 knocks when moving the steering wheel when parked, the noise is coming from the inner track rod area so assumed it might be that, however upon checking the power steering fluid, it looks rather low!

Could this be the cause of the knocking or has the lack of fluid probably already done the damage? Ill buy some fluid tomorrow just wanted to run this by you guys as I was thinking about it. Didn't notice this on the test drive so hopefully there isn't a leak somewhere, time will tell!

Worth checking for loose stuff on a ramp mate. Cant see it being pas fluid tbh
