Jacked car up, put on stands, took wheel off, began to losen nuts and both snapped! 2 hours later having taken out suspension arm job done....fun!

Worth it on the recent trip to the Lake District though. The A66 east pass road towards Alton was epic!

haha worse if the ball joint snapped and rod was left in that be bad

I bought two identical ball joint separators from halfords as sods law one would snap half way through the job- and it did! Just saw your other thread about play in steering- same problem here

never needed a ball-joint separator. just need to widen up the bracket on the hub.
