Lower ball joint pinch bolt just spins

Got round to changing the lower ball joints, and I get stuck at the first bolt.

The nut on the pinch bolt just spins, is there any way round this than taking the whole hub off and cutting the bolt off?

If it's spinning, it's stripped. New nut and bolt required unfortunately.

Is there any tool that will help me get the nut off without having to remove everything? I have a new bolt to go on.

The bottom threads which it needs to bite to climb up the thread will be gone but the ones above will still be intact so you couldn't just pull the nut off or knock the bolt through with a hammer and punch.

Yeah I properly confused people as I was doing the nut up in the video. Aluco is exactly right, the nut just spins without traveling up or down the bolt, I have ordered a nut cracker to get it off.

Surely if you give it a whack the bolt might move onto a thread??

I understand it wouldn't whack right though, but it may move onto a good thread, no?
