lowering a 1.4 RT, what to buy :S

  clio mk1
Hi all, Ive never really thought about getting my RT lowered and people keep telling me it needs it, just wonderd what exacly i have to buy? ive looked on ebay but wasnt quite sure what id have to buy. also will i need to find a smaller garage to fit it or will somewhere like quickfit do it? any advice will be great, my car is a 95 RT with 15`s and my will have 16v front arches fitted by the end of the month, thanks.

Quickfit etc will sometimes fit it its a cash in hand job if they do as they arn't officially a place to do it any garage can do it though although since you have a torsion bar at the back they can be a pain with rust etc.

Personally best ensure your ball joint etc are decient before spending money on suspension as even new springs dampers ie a refresh of stock parts which has no insurance costs and is safer is much better than some cheap lowering springs or a cheap suspension kit both in terms of ride quality and safety.

Personally I'd decide how much you want to spend decient stuffs not cheap ~£450 for coilovers with whatever ride height you want otherwise deceint dampers and some reasonaly Eisbeck springs are a superb setup.
With your car you only have springs at the front and there are 4 dampers (2 front 2 rear) the rear height is set by the torsion bar.
