Lowering a cup

What springs should I use??? Will it void my warranty, has anyone got pics???

not sure what springs are available and as for warranty it seems to vary from dealer to dealer as to whether they take exception to mods or not, just ask your local one and see what they say.

Had -40mm AVOs ... great on smooth roads but sh*t on bumpy B roads. Fronts bottomed out and rubbed inner liners on full lock (std 16"). Recently changed to Eibach Pro. Not much in terms of lowereing but handling is sweet! Soaks up all the bumps but doent roll as much. Lesson learned .... lowering a car does not always improve the handling. Unfortunately the Queens highway is no racetrack surface these days!! Also the Eibachs are black and pretty much indistiguisable from standard.

Why would you want to alter the handling of a car that is already so good?!

Sod the looks, you buy a Cup for the performance & handling...

Because Renault have put all their skill and brilliance into it.

Some will still say it isnt good enough. Or simply want a nice shiny lowered car that will fit in down the seafront on cruise nights.

Each to his own guys, theres no single truth. No need to assume that if somebody wants to lower a car, its only for show/posing. You need to be a bit more tolerant..

My cup is on circuit every other weekend during the summer and it does need lowering and firmer suspension. The standard ride height is adjusted by Renault as the best compromise for road use, including very uneven road surfaces etc. If you take your car on track you will know excatly what I mean. Without the need for this compromise the cup would be riding approx 30mm lower on firmer springs. Just check out the brilliance and skill of Renault on the cup racers, they are 30-40mm lower than your street cup.
