Lowering! But how low?

I have a mk1 phase 3. Ive got mk2 valver rims on it with '55' profile tyres.
Can i lower it by 55mm with no probs?
Or is 40mm more sensible?

Depends what you lowering on

Springs should be fine but coilovers would be much better as there harder spring so don't roll as much.

only can afford springs dude, seriously tho nothing can be worse than my body roll at the moment.

so 55m on 15 inch 55 profile will be ok?
