lowering engine position

The cup racer engine sits lower but as to how I'm not sure sorry..

smack underside of bonnet with hammer
find a way to raise bonnet a bit (use a hammer?)
throw hammer at windscreen
set fire to hammer and car
go on a killing spree with flaming hammer :evil:

its amazing what can be done, there are companys that can roll a very small bulge in. i wasnt really meaning put an impreza scoop on it

try skimming the head... litrally. grind it down lol.

i think it could be costly whatever avenue you go down. what is the distance before the catch touches the clip?

oh the bonnet will clip into the catch

but its resting/pushing on the inlet plenum needs sorting before i take it out for a blast as the engine movement is going to damage something

only thing i can think (bit of a bodge though)

is to raise the front of the bonnet slightly (possibly using pieces of old hose pipe) where the bonnet quick release pins are

or make a bulge in the bonnet :S

but i think its gonna be easyier modifiying the bonnet instead of dropping the engine down, chavy scoop ftw!

i presume that the bonnet is two skin? the our skin and inner skin? can you not just cut out some/most of the inner skin? Weight reduction AND solves your problem?

yeh beanie sent me a pic of a bonnet for reference, i have already chopped a bit of bracing out, but looks like i may need to cut some more out in order for it to fit correctly

time to break out the angle grinder.....my best friend :approve: :clown:
