lowering MK1 clio

hey all im brand spanking new to this......

was wondering if anyone had any problems lowering their mk1 1.4 on 15 inch wheels? I got tsw hockenheims with 195/50/15 tyres... its already pretty tight for space on the front wheels and i wonder if they will rub if i lower them. Any help would be grateful.

can lower it 40mm but i think ull find its the back that may scrub, especially with 50 profiles

iv got 16" on mine and its lowered 40mm on front, 45 profile and plenty of space!! its jus the back scrubs when ppl in the back, so solution, dont offer people rides!!

yeah i used to have 205s on the back and they used to rub like a b**ch with people in the back..... so changed to 195s thinking it would solve the problem but they still rub with a couple of fat baps in the back.... just have to not offer anyone lifts.... hehe

hehe would love to..... but i need to cart around loads of crap so need space in the back, I have a JBL sub and used to have a JBL amp til some nasty lil person came and nicked it, so gonna buy new JBL amp and a stealth box and car should be running pretty sweetly... also need new back box as my old nasty one now has a hole in it. Any ideas for new back box? I don;t want anything silly just nice and chromed :D

or rip the back out and fit a roll cage :D

it all depends where ur wheels are rubbin, weather its the inside or outside edge of your tyre, it seems all mark 1s on here vary, some ppl exerience rubbin, some dont.

i would say seein as its jus a torsion bar, follow the torsion bar lowerin guide on this website (accessible only to members so ull have to join), lower it one notch and see if it rubs or not. If u think its excessive, put it back up!?

cool sounds good, when i get the dosh ill be getting lowering springs from K-tec, only wanna go down 35 mm, don;t wanna go too crazy cos end of the day its only a 1.4..... really want a 16v, well if i had the money id get a integra type-r and NOS and turbo it to death hehe

i get rubing on the side skirt on my rsi, which i have willy 15inchers on. wanting to lower her but no idea where to start i think i have 195 tyres all round.. any help much appreciated! cheers ryan

Just got my 1.4rt back from garage this evening after fitting -35mm spax springs and the rage carbon/titanium backbox. I got 195/50/15 tyres on 15" team dynamic monzas (which are for sale by the way). Handling is much improved especially as there only springs, plus the back box looks ripping and sounds it too. No rubbing as yet. cheers, sam
