lowering!?

i'm planning on lowering my clio ph2/3 i'm new to modding so need to know the basics please

does my clio have a torsion bar?
whats the baest kits to get ?( lowering onto 17's)
should you lower of change the wheels first?

excuse me for sounding like a 'pleb' but would rather do it right and proper than guess!!!

theres no torsion bar, they are only on mk1 clios (old shape) and most people on here would say lower first then alloys i would think...but i may be wrong there lol

yea lower it first then see what sort of clearnace u have left ( Standerd tyre to edges etc etc prob only wanna go 40-45mm on your car with 17s , but not to sure

cheers guys, gotta get me facts righ before i start splashing out on lowering kits which turn out to be the wrong size! i was thinkinking 45mm too.
so lower first is it...right so what kind of kit am i looking for?

is the offset 38 or 40?

offset is wheels darling

youll need to work out if your car had a 52mm or 58mm bolt spacing

should be 58mm with i think a 26mm wide hub (i'll check when i get home)

fred: all those numbers ahh!!!:S i only know some stuff as i'm picking it up as i go along. so when i get my alloys what do i need to know?? just the size i want is it?

lol ofset for alloys is when needed, 35to38 BORE 60.1 ALL CLIOS after 99 16V

na you want 37 maximum to 42 minimum approx

35 is way to far out
