LTO4 running out of space !

i have a LTO4 single drive in use here but its playing up i seem to get different amounts of data written to it every night before it runs out of space. obviously LTO4 is 800GB/1.6TB im using hardware compression in the drive yet it can request a second tape after only 720GB i dont think its ever backed up more that about 790gb to the tapes. looking back through the job logs it seems its compressing the data so it seems kinda strange to me

any ideas ?

oh im using arcserve 12.5

Check the Database Media view in ARCserve to see if the tapes have Soft Write Errors. These can eat up a lot of space on tape.
