Was at work in Reading today and a lorry pulled up outside one of our exchanges, think it was a lorry full of cable for our guys, the driver got out to ask us something, anyway, not sure wether he left the handbrake off or something or the brakes failed but the lorry began to roll down the hill, taking out a lampost, Ford Mondeo and an NTL box before ploughing down an embankment and embedding itself in the front of someones house!!
there was debris everywhere and it was so lucky no little kids or people were in the way or in the house at the time or it could have been ALOT worse. The driver was shaking like a leaf due 2 the shock as there was nothing he could do to stop 13tonnes of lorry from doing a runner! going to be a while me thinks before they can pull the lorry out...... and one things for sure, the insurance bill will be massive! just thankful no one was killed or injured....
