Had a search, but I can't find anything like what I'm experiencing... Lumpy/jerky acceleration and a bit of a rumbly noise, like it is quiet rocks in a cement mixer!! Doesn’t seem to be there all the time, but is getting more noticeable.
Seems to be an intermittent problem, in lower gears when accelerating hard, and it is even more noticeable when turning (like on a roundabout).
It almost feels like the esp is kicking in and making the power delivery jerky, but it does it with the esp on or off. It’s almost like I can feel it through the steering wheel, so wondered if it was to do with the bearings?
The exhaust needs some attention, between the manifold and cat and after the cat, and I think that may be the source of the noise
The idle is fine for a clio… just when flooring it, it goes a little lumpy.
Any ideas what to concentrate on? I am going to try and change the discs and pads pretty soon, so may change the front bearings at the same time (if it is simple) and wondered if there was anything else I could do myself before taking to a garage.
The bugger is the Clio is my only car at the moment as my new daily driver has been delayed until June now… so I need to clio to be working for commuting the 40 mile a day round trip to work… Only been doing 100 miles a month in it so far, so just starting to notice this issue with increased use.
Suggestions welcomed!
