Lumpy Tickover

Got the beast booked in to reno for the first real fault weve had on her so far. Noticed a couple of days ago that tickover was really rough, making the shake a little now and agine. Went to fire her up this morning and she cut out. On the second attempt she kept running but the lumpyness was even worsr with the cold air. Has anyone else had this problem at all? Car is standard so its not down to an air filter (I hope!)
 


Mine is lumpy, its due to a slight misfire now and again. Ive changed plugs leads etc. But it hasnt changed anything. The car only shakes when its idling.

a geezer over the road from me has had it happen on a year old 1.4, Ill have to nip over and ask him what it was. I noticed he had a courtesy car for about three days the other week so I hope it nowt major!

ive got a clio 2002 1.2 16valve. i noticed mine was extremely lumpy 1st thing in a morn then all of a sudden it revs more and the lumpyness stops, do u reckon its to do with the auto choke? i took it back to renault and had to leave the car there all day because they had to let the car cool again, the women told me that they had reconfigured the ECU but do you reckon reno just fobbed me off ? It still happens but it isnt as bad in summer (warmer) just cold winter, it has improved also due to me fitting a k-tec induction kit

I have had the same problem and renault have booked me in for a new battery

On start up at garage the revs were going up and down and i had to start mine twice..

Renault mechanic told me unofficially that they had a bad batch of batterrys on 51-02 plated 172s..

It wasnt in the thousands but a few bad ones got through and mine was one.Hope this helps.

mines a 52 plate, ive got 2 amps hooked up to it but ive tried it with the amps off etc and its still tha same. another little reno niggle, but then again, its called personality !

hmmm intersting Ive got an amp in the car , I havent tried unhooking it or whatever. This seems to have come on after thrashing the car round silverstone the other week. As I was telling my girlfreind a thrash round the track should knacker the car up when its meant to be a renno "sport" hehehe anyway I hope they sort it and dont fob me off.
