Lurking for a while finally joined properly!

  2003 Clio 172 Cup
Hello all,

I've owned my 2003 Clio 172 Cup in trophy blue with white wheels for 2 and a half years now. Finally got around joining and maybe having a bit of a fiddle now I've managed to crack my cylinder head and have to put another head on it/get another engine.

So i've sourced another f4r 732 with a lot less miles on it than my current engine and will be in the process of swapping it over in the Christmas period.

I love the Clio and seem to see quite a few around here in the Norwich, Norfolk area in general and apart from being a bit lairy its been quite a fun daily, i've done 35k miles in it on the commute to and from work and apart from the alternator going before (which was good fun to change!) its been reliable up until now! Now I walk to work and working in at a company that does a lot of Automotive developments I want to play! But my old job and racing is in my blood so want to make a few tweeks and do some track days with the old girl and give her a bit of a birthday now! ;)

Not sure yet, I'm on a budget! But we have quite a lot of dealings with Tour de force and RS Tuning through work so maybe tempted to do a little bit. Gonna do a little porting on the inlet manifold on the upper section, already got the RS stamped lower section on it. N/A tuning is extremely hard work and its more than quick enough so handling will be the main aim of the game i think. But we'll see how things go as I have a LHD 1983 Metro Turbo in the garage which is my main project, the 172 is meant to be a practical daily!!

Metro Turbo, pretty damn fast in its day if I recall correctly, though the one I had suffered more oil leaks than a sieve ;), get a couple of pictures up of it, I've got no pictures but after that I progressed to an MG Maestro turbo, again went well BUT it was a Maestro :S

Well after a good scout of my computer I only have one picture of the Clio! Which is her looking sorry for herself having the head removed!

Heres a cheeky one of the Metro, she'd been sitting in a barn in Belgium for 10 years after a pricey engine rebuild and new turbo. I love it but she needs some love and attention.

And a few from my old job:
polarexplorer.jpg

Eikon Polar Explorer - just broke the world record for a land journey to the South Pole.

1982 Arrows A4 - One of two we used to run and one of the quickest cars in the Historic F1 championship.

Now I'm having a relaxed life and need to start tinkering with some slightly less Exotic cars! lol
