White APE
Couldn't stay away from RS ownership forever!
After selling up my 182 a few years back and having a rather boring A3 tdi which then got rear ended and written off. Replaced that with a Zetec s which although was a nice car, just wasn't doing it for me.
I had initially been looking to replace that with a civic type R but couldn't find a decent one within budget.
Sunday night I was browsing through auto trader and found an advert that caught my eye. Very well written, and everything sounded good. As I couldn't do anything about viewing until the wednesday I didn't make contact until the tuesday. Made arrangements to view the car and also discussed part ex'ing the fiesta, sent him over details of my car so he could do some prep work on part ex valuing.
The car is a 57 on 53k and the plate came with the car. 1 owner after 3 months with renault as a demo.
The list of recent work in the ad that caught my eye were as follows:
Full service
Cambelt and water pump
Brake fluid change
New pads all round
New drilled discs
New engine mount
New front coils
4 new tyres
Cost the seller 2.2k!
Car was absolutely as described with the only fault being a stone chipped front end. Went for a drive and it drove perfect. Was very impressed with the ride quality and the lack of squeaks and rattles - much improved from the 182.
Shook hands on a deal and paid my deposit. Went back last night after work and collect the car.
Took it steady on the way home as the weather was shite and I've been away from this kind of power for a while and also my first turbo experience. Journey home was a few a roads and then m4 & m25. Cruised perfectly along the motorways with ease.
Anyways, that enough waffling for now. Only got a few pics from the ad as I've been working since I picked it up. Will hopefully give it a clean and photos on wed.
C&C welcome.
