MacBook won't boot!

  fiesta 1.25
It was fine yesterday but went to turn it on today and it gets stuck on the grey screen with the apple logo and trying to load. After about 20 seconds the apple logo changes to a no entry style icon.

Anyway to fix?

Turn on macbook, Hold Cmd + Option + P + R before the grey screen appears.

Keep them held down until the computer restarts and you hear the bong for the second time.

cross fingers..

Sounds like your hard drive is dead or corrupted?

Boot from your DVD and run disc utility tool to verify the drive. Maybe.

After you turn on, immediately press the option key and hold it down for a few seconds - the startup manager should appear.

I bought it secon hand off eBay about 2 years ago hardly worth getting AppleCare for.

It has been playing up recently actually saying my start up disk is full and won't run 2 apps at the same time. I would boot from a cd but my cd/DVD drive has neve worked. Any other way to do it?

Mate if you still have the backup discs borrow/buy a USB DVD drive.

As making a bootable USB is impossible without another mac.
