It doesn't have to be mapped again, seeing as you've got a 172 cup you'll have the RS stamped inlets which were a better casting than the normal ones
so the gains will be minimal if any, I had my RS stamped inlets done by Jamsport and other than being £170 quid lighter,
I didn't notice any difference.

You'll have to take the fuel rail guard off to make sure as it's only the lower one that's stamped,
but i'd say you more than likely have them.

This is what you're looking for if you're not sure, those two bolts underneath are what the fuel rail guard bolts to.

Did you notice if the inlet ports were narrower then the gasket holes?
You can usually tell by the dirty ring around the ports, the bigger the dirt ring the smaller the ports in relation to the gasket holes,
which means you'll see an improvement from matching.

Dave the garage checked for me not myself,so is it worth doing, jamsport have messaged me to say they still do them and they match the top and bottom?

I honestly can't tell you if it's worth doing as I don't know how good the casting is and the dirt test is how you find out,
but generally the RS inlets were a better casting so the gains from matching are minimal if any,
so on the whole i'd say your non RS inlets would benefit from matching, but by how much I can't say.

It's not hard to take the top inlet off yourself and have a look at the ports and once you've done it once,
it seems like a piece of piss the next time.

The big difference is where the ports meet the head. The upper ones match fine.
They're all s**t that I've seen, even RS ones.
But it only makes the smallest difference having them matched.
I'm about to put my Jamsport matched inlets up for sale, PM me if you're interested. I have ITBs now.
Edit: I think I have some RS ones in my spares pile if you prefer.

This is the overlap on the gaskets , my 53 plate cup didn't have RS inlets. I port matched them myself wouldn't be paying £170 for it.
