I really do think that the mid-era Evos (4 through to 6) are simply getting better with age in appearance. In a world where headlights are increasingly being wrapped up and around the front of the car - so much so that they aren't far from the A-pillar; that the word 'boot spoiler' refers to a 1" plastic lip and bonnet vents are considered 'chav' - these Evos are such a refereshing look.
They are angular, boxy and far from aerodynamic. But every surface is tweaked and made to perform a
function - regardless of the end look in terms of aesthetics. Whereas late 90's designers could focus on getting cold air to the I/C and brakes, while venting hot air from the top - today's designers are hand-tied with NCAP stuff - on the billion-to-one event that Doris mounts your bonnet after stepping out from a bus stop.
