Max tyre width on a 7J alloy?

As per title,

What's the maximum tyre width that would be safe on a 7J width alloy?

I've currently got 205s fitted and TBH it looks as though the alloy could easily handle a wider tyre - the edge of the alloy stands proud of the tyre, i.e. if you ding a kerb the first bit that hits is the alloy...

You could probs get away with 215's but 205's are generally the max size fitted to a small hatch to keep in nimble

If its lowered wider tyres will probs catch on the liners alot during manouvers
