MDF speaker baffles

  ?
I recently upgraded my front speakers to components and I cut away at the crappy plastic 'dish' the old woofers sat in to accomodate for my new speakers driver depth etc.. and mounted the new speakers in there place.

I want to increase the sound quality as i believe this mounting isnt ideal. After some searching I believe the best idea is mdf baffles? I dont really want to make my own and have found some cheap on ebay...would they be suitable?

buying baffles will not increase sound quality, they are designed to bring a speaker out or fit cars where they are 3 point mounting saving purchasing speaker adapters.
you want to improve sound quality, get dynamatting to start with

The speakers dont feel properly secured on 4mm thick plastic though, wouldnt mounting them on these baffles make a difference? Im not interested in dynamatting as im trying to keep the weight down and would need quite a bit correct?

entire door would need to be done for full effect, you need to put something between the speaker and the door panel to make it tight and secure,i use sound deadening carpet to reduce any rattles from speaker to panel between the point of fixation
