hello peeps after much thinking i have decided to try and put a 225 lump into my 172 cup any info would be good if anyone has done it before etc im told the engine itself is the same just turbo,d is this correct i basically need to know bout mounting pionts gearbox drive shafts i can sort the loom and exhaust however they end up should have enough money to do this by the summer might consider a company doing it if they have done it before and if it aint too much more

ok done a little search on here and apparently a tt 1.8t lump is the way to go shurely thats harder different makes and all that

Think the 225 engine doesnt quite fit hence the audi conversions people have done.

there is someone over on rtoc.org who is fitting a 225 lump in a 5gtt but he had to have the block modified to take a speed box i think

after alot of info from everywhere i have decided in the interest of handling not to bother im getting a new engine and box and throttle bodies does anyone know if ill need an after market ecu or will mine cope

the megane has problems keeping traction, god knows what it would be like in a clio.
Buy a faster car is my advise (;

I think he OEM ECU can be mapped to suit bodies, speak to a good mapper. May be easier to just get an aftermarket ECU though mate as AFAIK no-ones got an engine running properly on ITB's and he standard ECU.

yes you will need an after market ecu

emerald, go-tech, dta, vems, omex etc etc etc
