Met the most cool Cup Driver ever!

Last night, just as i had pulled into the Shell garage and gasped at the 79.9ppl for optimax, i start to fill it up........looks over, some guy in a mint CUP pulls in next to me.....i had to concentrate as i was only puttin £10 in the tank. Anyways, £10 in, walks over and asks, how long u had this then.........oh its my girlfirends he says....... :o.........she said it needed filling up so here i am. I have a 911, but i can honestly say this is so much fun to drive!!!!!! So i points over to mine, yeah us 1.2 owners envy you lot, but its our insurance that does us. He said, yeah its a nice car u have, as my silver paint and lexus lights were shining under the petrol stations lights!......so we goes in to pay for the fuel, still chatting away.......pays up, and at the end of it all, ha pats me on the shoulder and says keep grafting away and you will get there in the end! its well worth it, enjoy! what a top guy! Unfortunately, when i asked him if he goes on the net he said not much really.......shame! Top marks to a sound guy!!! Love it when u get down to earth people like that!.............. funny thing ws, looked like he was wearing racing driver shoes lol! I was biting my lip when he dripped petrol down the side of it tho ;) Cheers, Rob

You cant really say that, self opinionated would be someone who doesnt accept anyone elses views..

Anyway the reason why i dont like 911s is the way theyve got away with having an ugly unimaginative car (interior and exterior) because competition is non existant due to the good chassis and engines. I would never ever have one because they have no character, its a wannabe supercar.

Tired to take to a fellow CUP driver in Newcastle, bloke must have nicked it cause all he could do was grunt, or it that just geordie speak!

Now, the fat that my dad ru porshe doent make me bias my decision in the least, if its good, its good....bad iand i will say it is.

But, unimmaginative? hmm........a revolution in chassis layout, aerodynamics and engine/gearbox design.....hardly. And since its been around for about 40 yrs......again, i dont think its through lack of competition...LOL

Having driven almost every version of the 911 and boxter, including having a 959 & GT1 in our workshop, i can say that the word supercar was made up for porshces. There is a reason why they are the single most successful manufacture in racing, winning more races than ANYBODY. Hm....and mostly with 911 based or mid/rear engined designs.

Come to HK mate, im sure i can change your mind, whilst also gettig rid of your horrible pansy understeer fetish. LOL

You are lucky getting Optimax for only 79.9 - where I live, ordinary super unleaded is 83p per litre!

indeed, the boxster is underpowered.....but tis intended....if they come out with a stonker straight away they wouldnt keep interest in the design.

By steadily increasing power.....it stays young....marketers eh!

But i has got a GREAT chassis.
 


I think the fact ive come back 6 pages must prove i hate porsches!

The boxster is butt ugly, and the interior too! I wouldnt say its underpowerd though, it has a good balance, but still, no way hose!

I appreciate the 911 is somewhat an engineering feat but it hasnt changed for 40 years! There are also far to many tw*ts driving them!

HK sounds like a great place from what you were saying in the F50 thread, whys everyone so rich?

Not everybody is rich, but manu people buy a mercedes and live in a dive, cause nobody can see you at home....funny mentallity.

Also, alot of real estate, big business men etc etc....endless posh cars.....ZZzzzz

Rob, i think i could quickly change your mind on Porsches....lol.....
