microswitch colors underneath driver seat /182

  clio 182cup
Hello chaps,
Well its a 182 clio with the seat loom removed. Airbag+service light are On and although resistors are closing the airbag loop, it's the micro switch that is missing to complete the circuit.
Does anyone know the colors of the car side loom that corespond to the micro switch to soder them together and get alog with the airbag light?

Thanks in advance
George.

Good morning gents,
i asked the same question to well-known three companies in UK aside the forum with no result.
Which led me to the point, or it's a secret (which is the dumbest think in my personal opinion) OR actually no one knows this little stupid thing, the little detail on Airbag+serv light.
So just to add some knowledge for others when they reach this point on this forum here are some facts to solve this with no cost.

For sure to get your new buket seat instaled it is wise to add some resistors before, on the Pyro-seatbelt and to the airbag. On the car side loom The orange-brown twisted cables are the ones as two pairs. Solder between the each pair a resistor of 3.3Ω (ohms) to 3.9Ω of whatever wattage 1W /3W or 10Watts will do the same thing. The 1W is small size/ 10W is ten times bigger the size of 1W.
Here are the two pairs of pyro and airbag on the car side loom that i've solder a 3W 3.5Ω resistor

Despite this the Airbαg and Serv light will still lit.
To adrees this you have to find the micro-switch (M/S) cables to either attach the M/S or a resistor to it.
Those are the PinkBrown and light PurpleBrown cables or in the car loom plug are those two marked in the circle on this position.

This switch is responsible for the airbag system to recognize if the driver is close or far from the steering wheel in case of an accident to deploy the small or the large Airbag on the steering wheel.
The M/S is held by a rivet on the front side of the inside seat aisle (By the tunnel) of the original seat. Just in front of the pyro-tensioneer seatbelt.
Somewhere in the junk i managed to find the darn M/S and looks like this.

Well, if you are not lucky to find one just add a 100Ω resistor.

In my case the person who drives the car is short, plus it's a street car plus i've instaled a fully working Mk3 steering wheel (on this clio tho isn't equipted with cruise control from the factory so the buttons are missing) And for these reason i will add the M/S to the bucket seat. I am not intetened to kill them with the Airbag.
So if you aren't using a steering wheel with AirBag, just ignore the M/S and add a 100Ω resistor to complete the Airbag circuit. Or you may have some troubles and althogh all the connectors around the system are looking good, maybe this s**t is the trouble which is worth look at.

Here is a pic of the diagnostic faults readings . (Ignore the 9008 code. Hard times of the Green Connector of the steering wheel Airbag, easily fixed)
The " Capteur Position Siege Avant Conducteur... " The 9031 code is the M/S missing the circuit.

Adding the M/S the fault erased

AirBug+Serv lights are off. Hence the sticker to block the Serv light that was ON for Seven Years, as owner told me.

and everything is back to normal

So i hope i took the cloud off and the mistery of the Orange lights of the dash which are annoying and (in my opinion) are for the bmw's and the vag's everyday life.

Thanks.
George P.

And the mk3 Clio steering wheel
434459807_1104785784063569_8374223136818028299_n.jpg

altho in this clio was't equipted with cruise control from the factory, therefore buttons of the cruise on the wheel are missing. To be Honnest it's a Clio 197 wheel with mk3 1.2 airbag .
Cheers.

I usually code the seat airbags out with can clip.

Assuming your using Renolink, should have been able to code it out on the software.

On racing clios i overwrite the whole system. On street cars equipted with airbags i keep everything in order.
eg. The Sparco seat is on rails and steering wheel comes with airbag. I think the M/S is a good idea to add in the first place aside the warning lights.
And i was looking for an answer in the forum but everything referred about resistors etc and after what i read about the issue i thought to give an idea of how this is working, mabe seem useful for others.
Found the colour mach to the M/S by trial and error cause i never faced this at the past to be honnest.
Yes it's the renolink.

Interssting info regarding the microswitch. All the ones i have coded out had fixed position buckets so was no need to look at that, simply code out seat airbags and pre tensioners and srs system works as normal.

I guess you need to fit resistors to fool the srs system to think airbags still fitted so switch still works?
