220 Trophy
May be you're right but I'm only repeating what the guy at Mintex told me. He had no reason to BS me as I told him I was going to purchase a Mintex pad whatever as they're only one of maybe two manufacturers that make pads for the Willwoods. I guess the reasoning behind it is that the less aggressive 1144 will get up to temperature quicker and therefore be 'safer' on the road for the 'average' driver. The harder 1155 and 1166 need more heat to get up to temperature so a lighter hot-hatch in normal road driving wouldn't get them hot enough and therefore would be less 'safe'. I tried the 1155's on track and they felt more like an OEM/fast road pad, whereas the 1166's when up to temperature are pretty good. As mentioned I'm even looking to go for a race compound F4R next but will wait until I've finished the 1166's off. So basically I think the 1144's may be an alternative to standard road pads but definitely not a fast-road or track pad, for a 'fast-road' hot-hatch like a RS Clio I'd definitely recommend the 1155's but truthfully with standard callipers the CL RC5+'s are much better (IMO of course!!).
