Mintex m1144 question

Received my pads today from auto-nation but I have a stupid question to ask!

What are the wires coming off the top of the pads? My old pads didn't have them iirc.

Are they the correct pads for my 172?

pads also fit other cars. Cut the wires off, they're just wear sensors
