Mis-firing 172

Hope you guys can help me, i've read a few posts about mis-firing but they seem to be different types to mine. The car is fine at lights and low rev's etc but when you do more than 5k revs in any gear it loses all power, i've kept my foot on the floor to see if it'll get past the problem but it only gives a little bit more occasionly then basicly becomes dead.
i've had the o2 sensor/coil pack/spark plugs replaced coz i thought it could be them plus had a tank drain incase it was dodgy fuel but no luck, i also had a comp test on it which showed nothing

has anyone had this problem before or got any ideas because i'm stuck now and getting a little annoyed

sounds like mine was, waterin spark plugs was the cause

Does the electrical symbol light come on (square with squiggly line through) and then it goes into limp home mode? I had this and had the throttle body replaced which cured the fault.

No light unforntunatly and leads look ok, when i replaced the spark plugs i didn't notice they were wet but maybe the new ones are, i'll check them as soon as i can............ hopefully it will be a cheap solution!

Leads are not very cheap, they can rub on the inlet manifold at the back causing arcing.
