Miss fire on a 1.2 04 plate

A lad at my work has a 1.2 and he has starting trouble sometimes it doesn't start 1st time but when he turns it over again it starts, he phoned the dealers they say check the 2 relays in the engine bay and some sensor can't remember which one and they were fine, mine had the same problom all it was was a built up dirt on the throttle body but the 1.2 doesn't have one any suggestions?

u checked the TDC sensor or the coil pack ??
or it myt be an oxygen sensor

ppl will say either the Coil Plugs, or the TDC sensor try them a go

More than likely the TDC sensor for the starting issues...

Only around £20 from renault you'll need wire strippers and a blow torch to do it properly. You can just get them off, tighten the terminals in the block plug and clean the sensor but not worth the hassle.

Misfires when its running or is it just the starting issue?

my cuzin had same problem, sensor next to the gear box, the yard changed that for him and its fine now. he got charged £40

What does TDC stand for?

Top Dead Centre - Sensor detects where the flywheels at and who its hanging out with.

I'm not to sure when it's on tik over, i'll tell him what you told me i work in a car shop one of the mechanics will have a look at the car and check out the TDC sensor tomorrow, "and who it's hanging out with eh" lol
