missfire and flashing engine light on tickover

Hi all ive got a missfire and engine light flashing on tickover ,when i drive off and reach about 40mph it goes off.have plugged a cheap reader in and it shows code p0001 which says Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit/Open . dont know what this means to be honest any help or understanding appreciated.

cheap/basic readers normally pull this up as a complete random code.
my money is on an injector.

Most likely is an injector but if you can get it on CLIP it will tell you exactly which cylinder its on.

Exactly what i just had, RS tuner brought up injector 3.... £30 OEM injector off ebay and changed this morning and its perfect again
