Just had a look at my wheels only to find a locking wheel nut on each.. i know the tricks with sockets and all that but these have a spinning washer on the outside. Are these standard issue on clio 172 cups, and how do get a new key... Any ideas please! thanks
if they're standard, renault can supply new ones, as above, think the code is on the case. if not, there may be a few dodgy garages who can get em off easy, if you can't get a tight socket whacked on they maybe ur AA guy? they have a tool, but he might not do em all lol! i spent hours drilling mine out and needed to refurb the wheels after
if you have the code, you can order a new set from Renault, might take a week or 2
I couldn't afford to wait, so I asked a tire fitting place to take the bolts off (breaking them in the process), and just got a new set of 4 locking nuts.
Thanks for the quick replies, i have some codes on inside of the front page of the maintenance manual, but this is for ign key number, etc. It doesnt mention locking wheel nut numbers. I dont have the casing for the wheel nuts though... might have to be a garage job.
You simply need the FER number on the inside of the book in the car.

It will come a damn sight faster than Renault could ever supply the key.
checked my numbers insdide booklet and none started fer.... I had a sticker at the back which said key code- fa then 5 numbers. could this be it?. The other sticker had the other numbers like, chasis, ign key etc.
