My missus got rid of her Clio for a New Polo last March, she now hates the Polo and would like another Clio. Being a salesman at a Renault dealer is cool coz won't have a problem getting her another Clio but had a mad thought of getting a mk1/mk2 172, getting it painted racing blue and having stripes put on it. Has anyone seen it done before?

i've seen the stripes done badly on a mk2 black dynamique :dead: but never on a 172. Personally I wouldn't do it, although I love the racing blue/stripes combo.

I don't think she would be into it either. I have to have the sensible car now so was thinking if she got that could nick it for track days etc... will defo get her a 172, perk of the job is getting them at trade money

that does make me mess my pants. i almost so nearly opted out of a company car and got one as my boss wouldnt put a Racing Blue with stripes on as a demo so had to have black, silver and another black one.

But why would you want to spend all that money just for the colour and stripes when you could get a good phase 2 172 for what, £4500?

In my opinion the Gordini blue just makes the cars look cheap (awaits abuse). Even my girlfriend said the same thing the other day.
Still nice cars but I wouldn't do it to a 172. Silver all the way.

I know its a mad idea and would cost far to much, got a nice silver 182 in stock at the min, fully cupped and a 172 in black so will see which one she prefers.

very very nice, there have only been 3 of these sold in Cornwall, cant understand y when they look as good as that.

GRRRRR! whatever..... he he

^^ would kinda mis the point if you darken the blue and widened the stripes. Gordini.....

Surely it would be cheaper to just get a good price 182 in Racing Blue than it would be to get a 172 and paint the thing!

Surely instead of paying the money for a respray it would be easier just to buy the real thing in the first place?

If you are going to get a respray, get it in pearl white! You would be the envy of many people on here...

Oh God yeah..that would be the colour to go for. Imagine a V6 in pearl white *drool*

I think racing blue would look OK on a 172, if it had the Cup spoiler and maybe different rims - it wouldn't really look any different.

Gotta love the real thing though..racing blue looks cheap!? (sorry for huge pic)
