Mk1 1.4 RT Water Pump

Someone brought a mk1 1.4 RT to me today with the water pump leaking like a b**ch, I can't work in my unit today as I have lost the keys  is it worth changing this water pump for £190 in the cold? (I've never changed one before so no idea how hard) but just looked like a long job.

also what kinda prices would other people charge.

Regards Rob

Bit of a pain as need to do the cambelt as well.
If its £190 for labour only that a nice earner but it that includes new coolent pump cambelt etc then still not bad.

Why not cut the lock of the unit and buy a new one worth it for the hastle or working in the cold outside unless you have another garage you can use.

As for prices best ring round your local garages.

I did it in the end :( Wish i didn't lol. Changed the Cam belt, Water pump, Coolent. Took 4 HOURS :(. someone has tried to take the cam cover off before and round off EVERY bolt. :(.
Got £190 for a days work not bad. about £160 take home.
