MK1 1.4/Valver Rear Axle

  Looking for a ph-quick...
Hi all!
As some of you may know i have a valver lump put in my old 1.4. am i right in saying that i can just swap the rear axles over and connect the nesesary handbreak cables and brake fluid line up.
ive got a valver rear and was looking to change it as ive only got drums and shoes on my what used to be a 1.4. is it worth it? i was planning to get some brembo max discs for the front will these be enough?

cheers

Don't think so.

I'm still 100% convinced that it's wider at the back.. which means your wheels will hit the arches as you don't have the Valver flared ones.

awesome mate!! how much did the lump and labour cost to make the transplant?

errrr managed to get a complete valver lump still on the subframe for £250, so it included track, suspension, brakes, etc pretty much the whole fornt end.
fortunately im a little mechanically handed, and i got my mate to help who works for a metal fabricating company and has been workin on cars all his life so he had all the nescesary tools! we went down the pub after and i bought him a few pints so its definately down to who u know!

cheers

iirc Clio_Mk1 might have an RSi rear axle, but he is based in Falkirk which might be a bit away from you. I might be wrong about that anyway but I know he had loads of RSi parts.

Also, from what I have read on here before the rear brake discs won't make a huge difference as they don't affect the braking that much anyway.

Out of interest, was the engine swap fairly straightforward and how long did it take you and your mate to do?

Swapping the rears to discs won't make much difference?

Anyone actually know what percentage difference to braking it would make?

Yeah Clio Mk1 had a RSi beam but me and Djw Dave got it and its now on his car! If you get it complete with the handbrake cables then its an easy job.
