  Ph1

Went for a MOT today at the local Reno dealer. They tested the headlights like they do and found that when you put main beam on [ full lights ] the normal lights, the outer lights on the twin headlight set up, go out they didnt know if this was nornal or not as mine is the first mk1 172 to be MOTd at this dealer can anyone help ?.......by the way it did pass :)

Cheers

Not really sure what you mean mate, and did you get a letter through telling you when to get an MOT, or did you just work out 3 years after registration

Ive got these on mine and was told that the headlamps should stay on when the full beam is on. Check your fusebox, there should be one for what looks full beam. If this is blown, this will be the reason why they dont stay on.

Its going in for the big 36k service next week, if they can fit me in , so they said theyd look more into it then by ringing up Reno hq

George what I meant was when you put the main beam on the one where the blue light comes on on the dash, the the two outer lamps on the twin headlight set up go out thus leaving only the main iner lamps on when on full beam.....must admit I never noticed there was anything wrong untill they told me about it.

as for the MOT when you get your road tax it tells you when you will need one
