mk1 172 insurance

hi guys, im looking to buy a mk1 172 but im gettin really high insuracne quotes. im only 19 wiv a yrs no claims and wondered if there was any chance i cud get reasonable insurance (around £1500-£2000). Am i dreaming or is there a good company anybody knows of? Thanks.

I got a quote for the 172 from greenlight. Not up for renewal yet but was £697 and I'm 24 with 3 years NC.

Sorry mate you must have at least 1 years NCB for me to be able to quote.

To give you an indication I quoted a 21 year old guy earlier on from Leicester on a Clio 182 with 2 years NCB for £970.

So when you get your 1 years NCB I should be able to do you a good deal.

If it was a normal 172 (not cup) I might be able to swing something as a one off....We had some bad claims on the 172 cup so our insurers wont be keen to assist me on this model.

24, 1 years NCB and £80 per month on a Trophy with Admiral....

For people with low NCBs Elephant/Admiral do 'bonus accelerator' policies. It's basically a 10 month policy and at the end they give you 1 year's NCB, so you can earn 3 years NCB in 2 1/2 years, which isn't bad, especially as it's the same monthly cost whether you go for the 10 month or the 12....

They're good if you're happy to stay with the same company, but you often find different insurance co's won't acknowledge another company's 10month accelerated bonuses...
