mk1 clock help

i've got me hands on a spare one, so i can have a play with it, see if i can make it any more interesting than it already is!!

the bulb at the back, any ideas what type it is? i want to change its colour, but cant seem to find a number on it.

if any one has done anything to their clock, please post a pic to give me some ideas!

Just take the old bulb out and take it to halfords or wherever sells car bulbs, you have to change the entire unit including the black plastic surround, you can't pull the bulb out of the middle without removing the metal contact parts from the plastic shell as the +ve and -ve wires from the bulb are soldered on to them.

Just take it out, go to a shop, and find one that looks the same, and that'll be it. I didn't see any coloured ones though. I think you'll have to disconnect the existing bulb and solder a coloured one in there if you can find one.

I've not modified my clock at all but i am thinking of changing the dash illumination to blue at some point if possible, so i'll probably stick a blue LED in there or something.

mine has no face so it lights up bright orange looks cool at night

You can but different leds in them but you have to carefully cut the side to get the orange filter out. You can get leds from www.ultraleds.com - look at guides for ideas etc

yeah the orange plastic is tucked in tight mate, you will have to cut the side to get it out...thats why I didn't bother with mine....just got metal monkey to make me a clock surround for it....
