Mk1 Cutting holes for speakers in door

what speakers would i be able to fit in the doors if i went about cutting some holes.... could i gget 6" or bigger in there if i got or made some kind of spacer to stop the speaker going in too far?

  Skoda Fabia vRS

you can get door pods which let you fit 6.5"s in there but the pods are like over £100 for the pair

Colin_s has some Polk momo 6.25s in his, Ive just bought the same ones but aint fitted them yet. I guess youll needed spacers minumum, apparently the magnets dont even fit through the original speaker hole on the Momos though, so a little http://www.rtoc.org/boards/i/smash.gif might be needed to the door, depending on the speaker model.

the hole is sommet like 5.35" i think, i woudl quite fancy some ^2 or above, spacers could just be made from mdf, shoudlnt be too hard to hack inot the door, your not going to see it, so as long as they fit through the hole...
