Mk1 What model is BEST

  A well built VW

Excluding williams and 16v

I see lots of them in the paper i.e versailles and be bop etc what the difference and whats the best model to go for? I have been thinking of getting a mk1 ph3 as a daily runner

Opinions,Advice and good website for spec appreciated

not 16v and not williams, RSi, 1.8 8v

Other than that i woudl go for a ph2 1.4 RT, got a bit of poke, and got the useful toys like electric sunroof and electric windows, pas, remote central locking, also the energy engines are bullet proof

After the Rsi Id say

MK1 Phase 3 1.4 Sport ;) not biased but its the most reliable phase and the S has all the trim of the RSI except side skirts.. better than the granny interior with the RT

Quick rare though arnt they ???

Just had a look on trader, theres a fair few if you search for 1.4 S, think they were only made near the end of the line so all 1997

But I beleieve the S Maxim has the same spec and was done from 96-98..

Yeah i agree with bluepete ive had mine nearly 1.5 years and love it, its basically a 1.4 energy with an rsi gear box very nice seats all black cloth and a decent car mines williams blue so nice colours as well!different headlights rounder look more up to date or more girly however you put it!then theres a rear brake light (i dont like this bit but can live with it) heres mine:
